FARM SWEET FARM
October 11, 2017
It’s the end of wedding season, for us and most of Wisconsin. The days are growing shorter and cooler. Mums and pumpkins are arranged on most doorsteps. I love this time of the year!
Our last wedding for this year was just a few days ago. Husband’s cousin (who is a farmer) met his now wife (who is a farmer) on www.farmersonly.com. They are such a cute couple and yes, they now live on a farm. (insert hearts and cow emojies here) So how fitting to make them a Farm Sweet Farm sign?
The wood I used was from my father in law’s old wooden garage door panel. Seriously one of the best chippy white boards I have yet to get my hands on! I originally gained the panel for my booth at Countryside Treasures (See above picture, the middle white door). It was taller than what I needed, so Husband trimmed it down for me. I had just enough scraps from the panel to make this project and a Farmer’s Market sign (see below picture) which is currently at The Marshfield Mercantile.
The frames were found at Saver’s (my favorite thrift store in WI!). After giving them my red paint treatment, they became the perfect pop of color. Chippy white boards and red frames… two of my most favorite things!
